Known as the first Filipino warrior, Lapu-Lapu was a chieftan and is widely regarded as the first Filipino hero who resisted Spanish colonization. He was the leader of the warriors who killed Portugese navigator Ferdinand Magellan as he and his sailors attempted to land on the island of Cebu.
